The London Sikh Society Youth Camp was held from August 8th-12th and approximately 55 campers attended! There were three sections for students to learn about Sikhism and Punjabi. Students learned through multi-media presentations, singing songs, shabads and performing skits. Also guest speakers (Harkinder Singh and Bhupinder Singh) engaged children in Sikh literature discussions.Students reflected upon 5 daily themes like Seva, Equality, Compassion, Charity and Respect. By the end of the week, students showcased the themes in action through Jorha seva (Shoes seva), daily langer seva and a donation to Merrymount Family Support and CrisisCentre–campers brought in gently used toys and books for needy children.
With Waheguru Ji’s blessing this year’s camp was a success and may this blessing be carried forth for future participation as it has been in the past. May Waheguru Ji touch everybody’s heart to take initiative to participate in doing seva to educate our youth.
